About
Sandra Clinton
Owner and Designer
My name is Sandra Clinton and I am the owner of Embroidery Proud. I am proud to share my story of how my business began.
Prior to Embroidery Proud, I was a sales executive for a maintenance supply company.
I really enjoyed my career and received many sales award recognitions.
In 2007, my three-year-old daughter suddenly became ill as a virus attacked her heart, which caused her to have dilated cardiomyopathy & heart failure.
We lived at Boston Children’s Hospital for 60 days.I had already used my FMLA leave for the birth of my youngest daughter, and since my company wouldn’t grant an extension, I ended up losing my position. My daughter needed extensive care and I very rarely was able to leave our home. I decided to create a career that would let me work while caring for my children. I’ve always had a passion for personalized items, my kids even wore monogrammed, embroidered diaper covers. I bought an embroidery machine, took a class and started my business, Embroidery Proud. My journey began when I set up a table at the YMCA, where I connected with local moms and expanded my embroidery work beyond simply adding names to sweatshirts. I started designing personalized golf towels, gym bags, T-shirts, and sweatshirts.Over the past 14 years, my business has evolved to include much more than embroidery. Today, a large portion of my work involves creating T-shirts and sweatshirts with transfers, and embroidered baseball caps and knit hats have become a growing part of my focus.
Embroidery Proud can add your logo to just about anything!
UV DTF decals on water bottle’s, mugs, kitchen appliances, cars and many other hard goods.
I’ve pivoted and expanded my business over the years, and I truly enjoy the consultative approach I’m able to take with my customers. I’m proud to be a woman-owned business and deeply appreciate when companies choose to support me instead of ordering from large online retailers.
What started as a very small business has flourished into a much larger scale fulfilling orders with businesses, organizations, storefront, fundraising and teams.
Having run Embroidery Proud for 14 years, my daughters have witnessed the hard work and dedication it took to reach this point in my business journey. I feel incredibly fortunate to not only own Embroidery Proud but also to serve as an inspiration to my daughters and other young women. Being a woman-owned small business comes with its challenges, but I always strive to “find the gift” and focus on the positives in every difficult situation. My daughter Alexia is a senior at Merrimack College, and Briella just began her freshman year at Clarkson University, where she plays on the women’s volleyball team. Both of my girls are pursuing degrees in Business.
Embroidery Proud is growing and proudly, helping many groups “EXPAND their brand”.
I cherish and am very grateful for all of the friendships and business relationships Embroidery Proud has created.
